» Recommended Children's Bibles:

The 'Beginners Bible' (by Karyn Henley, Zonderkidz) is a great Bible for children aged 3 to 6. The language is accessible and the pictures are bright. A great Bible for the very young.

The 'International Children's Bible' (published by Nelson Word Bibles) has been written for children aged 6 to 12 years old. It has been translated directly from the text into English. An excellent Bible for children beginning to read on their own.

'NIrV Beginner's Bible' (published by Zonderkidz) is for children aged 6 to 10. It is based on the adult NIV version and is a simple, yet clear version of the Bible for young children.

'The Big Picture Story Bible' (by David Helm) helps children understand the big picture of the Bible. It tells the story of the Bible using Graham Goldworthy's framework, "God's people in God's place under God's rule". A great read for 6 to 10 year olds.

'Stories Jesus Told', Nick Butterworth and Mick Inkpen. This book is a collection of stories based on Jesus' parables. It is easy to read, with great illustrations, suitable for children aged 3 to 6. However the pictures in parable, 'The Little Gate' are unhelpful.

The 'Read Aloud Bible Stories' series (by Ella Lindvall) is designed for children aged 2 to 5 years old. They are large colourful books, with great illustrations. The language is clear and catchy. The questions at the conclusion of each story can be misleading and best left unread. There are 4 books in this series.
