» Introduction to Kidswise
Kidswise aims to teach children from the Bible the good news about Jesus, so that they can become wise for salvation (2Timothy 3:15).
Kidswise also aims to teach Christian children God’s truth, so that they can grow in making wise and godly decisions (2Timothy 3:17).
Kidswise is a web site that aims to provide quality material for teaching children the gospel at affordable rates. To gain access to the programmes and resources, teachers need to pay an annual membership fee.
This web site will continue to grow as resources are written, tested and edited. The web site includes a growing number of children’s talks, units of work (children’s talks and group time activities), leader’s training papers (on various aspects of teaching children), resource and audio files (for example, a gospel track and memory verses put to song).

Sandy Galea writes the majority of Kidswise material. However, the web site also includes a number of talks and units written by other members of her church (Multicultural Bible Ministry, Rooty Hill Anglican, Sydney). Jo Bailey and Joan Cooke have faithfully edited all resources on the Kidswise web site. Maggie Ha has designed the stencil masters now available on the Kidswise web site, making the programmes easy for busy Children's Workers to use.
Sandy is married to Ray Galea and they have three children - James, Amy and Madeleine. She is a trained primary teacher who has over twenty-five years experience working with both high school and primary aged children in public and private schools. |
Sandy became a Christian when she was ten years old through a Family Beach Mission. She has a passion to see children come to know Jesus as their Saviour, and for them to grow in love and obedience to him as their Lord.
Sandy has taught children in both school and church based ministries, as well as camping programmes, kids clubs and children's missions.
For the past sixteen years she has been writing her own material for use in her local church. Her programmes follow her church’s sermon series.
As a result, she has written and edited over eight hundred children’s talks. In 2002, Sandy published a book called “Children’s Talks – a practical guide”, which aimed to share some of the insights from her broad experience (see the Products page for a full description of her book and information on how to order it).
Over the past thirteen years, she has trained children’s workers in her local church as well as children's workers across Australia and overseas.
This web site aims to share more of her resources.

» About the Products
Up until the end of 2006, the structure of Sandy’s programmes began with all age groups in church watching a children's talk. This enabled the parents to see each week what their children were learning. After the children’s talk the children would then move to their various age groups (Pre-school, K-2 and 3-5) to further explore the point of the children’s talk.
The age groups are as follows:
» Pre-school
- 3 and 4 year olds
» K-2 (Infants)
- Kindergarten, Year 1 and Year 2
- 5, 6 and 7 year olds
» 3-5 (Primary)
- Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5
- 8, 9 and 10 year olds
Note: children in Year 6 (11 and 12 year olds) are a part of a middle school group in Sandy’s church and are therefore not specifically programmed for.
In 2007 the number of children under the age of 5 increased to the point where this structure became unworkable. From February 2007, children under the age of five did not view the children's talk in church. Instead, they entered their programme five minutes before the church service began.
As a result of this change of structure, Sandy has written a two-year cyclic Pre-school Programme (3 and 4 year olds) and a twenty-six week Toddler Programme (18 months to 2 year olds). These programmes come complete with stencil masters for each lesson. These programmes will be upgraded every few years. Members will be notified by newsletter when upgrades to these programmes take place. To gain access to Toddler and Pre-school programmes an option needs to be selected when taking out a church or school membership.
Programmes written prior to 2007 include Pre-school programmes, but do not include stencil masters.
Programmes written from 2007 onwards do not to include Pre-school programmes but do include stencil master.
The News Page sets out what is included and not included in each programme. It is essential that you download the Unit Outline to help locate all talks and programmes written for that unit.
